I painted this from a photo my husband took while serving overseas. It's one of my favorite pictures I have ever seen him take. I placed this in scenery because the photo ref. is of a wall somewhere in Iraq.

Since then it's been a book you read in reverse so you understand less as the pages turn or a movie so crass and awkardly cast that even I could be the star
♥
You should check out the rest of my hubby's gallery. He's so bored overseas that his style and mediums are all over the place. But, he needs the artistic support.

As for using the toothbrush, it was all about getting the look right. The ref. photo was of spraypainted birds on a wall. Spraypaint is too messy when you live in an apartment! So, next best thing that gives a sprayed look, a toothbrush!! I'm sure there are other ways, air brushing and what-not. I like to do things my way and cheap!
By the way, I really appreciate you rounding all three pages! You get a gold star for that!!!

anyway, the toothbrush's a great tool. fun too. ...provided that you do it the right way. gah, it's always fun explaining how you got to look like a dalmation.
it's also interesting that you bounce ideas off eachother. you both do extremely well and i'm interested to see more of his stuff when he comes back from iraq. you both are very versatile.
He doesn't have a lot of time or a good camera over there to do what he REALLY likes. He's currently more into getting his drawing skills back. He's amazing with color, I've always told him that. He has tried so many styles but, with little time to draw he is never able to finish anything truly worth while. We are looking into, well he is, a wacom when he gets back. Then he will be able to have more control. Thanks again for checking us both out!
